Hi, internet. I wrote a whole long post today at work, but after careful consideration, I decided not to actually post it. I'm wacky that way. But writing it felt... I dunno. And my friends are awesome. I might change my mind and post an edited version some other time. idk ( Read more... )

You know, I just started watching Buffy a few months ago and I have to agree. Loved the first few seasons and I burned through them so fast. Then I hit season 7 and I've been on it for like... two months. I still have like 10 episodes to go. I want to finish, in the name of completion, but... like... whatever.

On Buffy: OMG ME TOO. I identified hugely with Willow and I loved the show when they were in school. And some of it was situational - S4 aired the year I was in a show with rehearsals the same night (Tuesdays? Maybe? WHY DO I REMEMBER THIS) and I didn't usually have time to tape it and watch it later, so I kind of fell out of watching it, and.... I didn't care about Riley, or Adam, or any of that stuff. I still haven't seen S5 onwards. I just kind of don't care? I could go back and watch it, but most of my friends don't like the later seasons, and there's so much else I could be watching. Or reading. Why won't someone pay me to watch DVDs all day?

I think a lot of BtVS fans are like that - they like a block of seasons best and the rest are... okay, maybe. That's what I run into, at least. Same for the X-Files... I only have certain years on DVD for both of those series.

It's really hard to maintain the same level of interest in a series unless nothing major changes and the cast is totally constant. Like... Seinfeld, maybe?

As much as RTD stole borrowed from Joss Whedon, I'm pretty sure that the main reason Ianto died was that Tara died.

And I find the concept of Cupcake Camp fascinating.
