Seriously though, this is beautiful and lovely, and I think if we could have something like this in canon it would make a lot of people feel a whole lot better about S4.

I always told myself I would never write a post-COE fic and while this one came pretty easily once I had the idea (I'm in the middle of a Skulduggery Pleasant re-read!), it was really hard to write. And not even the kind of hard where I feel better after getting it all out, you know? The first draft was a lot more bitter and immediate and while I'm glad I edited those parts out, this one just makes me... sad.

I'm kind of glad it's out there, though.

Oh yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I've written a fair bit of CoE compliant fic, and it made me feel exactly that way every time.
