"It would be a fantastic, useless skill. Of course Jack has it."

pocky_slash: I also think it's hilariously ridic that not one, but TWO books involve Ianto kissing Jack to prove his identity. What. Even.
solsticezero: Wait, REALLY? Because that part was RIDICULOUS. What other book does that?
pocky_slash: Pack Animals! I thought it was ridic then & it was MORE ridic in this one. He has a different mouth! It doesn't make sense!

Wait, which was the other one? Because I haven't read Pack Animals yet, but I have read several other of my Torchwood books! (And many others are sitting there unread! /o\)

Almost Perfect which is the one we were in the middle of talking about that spurred on this discussion. I probably should have put in some context XD

(Almost Perfect, by the way, it totally my favorite because it is HILARIOUS. Most of them I don't like that much--they're super inconsistent and everyone seems OOC to me. But I did love Almost Perfect. Right now I'm reading Risk Assessment by the same dude and it is equally hilarious so far!)

OH I probably should have remembered that in Almost Perfect but I read it ages ago. And much agreement: it is hilarious. I mean, the first line of my mini review: "To be honest, when I read the back matter on Almost Perfect, my first thought was that I had read this fic before." I was a little iffy on the first series ones especially because parts of them actually got super jossed! The ones after series two were depressing because of the covers.

Apparently I have only read four out of my thirteen Torchwood books! And one of them was Rift War. Which. Bleh. I don't have any of the latest three.

I've read all of mine, I think I have everything that came out before CoE except for Another Life, and I heard the audio of that. (I can remember nothing that happens, because while JB is a great stage and dramatic actor, his voice is just not built for audio books, and I have problems with the format to start with.) And then I also got the one with the short stories. Uh, Consequences?

Then again I've never heard of Rift War. I'm missing out on something!

I also love Almost Perfect. Everyone I've met either loves or hates it. There is no in between.

*wants to reread Pack Animals now*

XD Niiiiice.

I finished it. Oh my god. It was brilliant. I long ago gave up looking to the books for good characterization or whatever and basically rely on them to be entertaining and not serious - and holy fuck, this book.

'I am Ianto Jones and this is how I roll.'

XD Thank you so much for lending it to me. I am actually going to spend money in it now. Are there any books that you don't have that you'd like to borrow? I have The House That Jack Built (VERY good), Twilight Streets, Undertaker's Gift and Risk Assessment. Although I'm fairly certain you have/have read Twilight Streets, and I know you have Risk Assessment. So, Gwacky Undertaker's Gift or surprisingly awesome The House That Jack Built?

Twitter comes and goes. LJ is forever. And sometimes things just need to be saved forever XD

IANTO IS SO FUCKING BADASS OH MAN. HEE! Oh, the whole thing makes me smile. I, tragically, had to put down Risk Assessment today so that I could go play minigolf and make jokes about Jack's space VD, but occasionally I would think of that joke on like, the fifth page, where Agnes says, "Tell your catamite to go get the car!" and Ianto goes, "What?" and Jack goes, "PLEASE DON'T LOOK THAT UP." and I would just start laughing for no reason.

Anyway. I'M GLAD YOU LIKED IT. I TOLD YOU IT WAS RIDIC AND HILARIOUS. I ONLY SPEAK THE TRUTH.

I would totes like to borrow The House That Jack Built! I have Twilight Streets and have no need to read anything leaning towards Gwen/Jack. That is the thing about these books! They do not have helpful headers so I can avoid things I would rather no read about!

XD I totally used that word in a fic I'm posting tomorrow, just because I thought it was hilarious in Risk Assessment. Catamite. Heh.

I will send you The House That Jack Built, then! I like it. I was re-reading it today and I still like it, which normally doesn't happen with TW novels. :D And I do wish they had headers. I'm really regretting buying Undertaker's Gift.
