Just got back from the city, where I had a lovely afternoon catching up with moonsheen and wandering about Ikea. She's getting ready to move into a new apartment, so we were checking out various couches and tables and lamps. It makes me want to move into a new apartment. Sigh. I just put together an IKEA lamp today. It's called "NOT", which is an inauspicious name, but it went together in approx 2 mins flat. The uplight gives a nice soft look to the room formerly lit only by teevee at night, and there's a poseable task light for reading or knitting or whatever. I didn't realize when I bought it that the two lights are on separate switches, but I'm glad they are. $20 of complete awesome!

Oh man, I frigging love Ikea. It really makes me wish I had my own place, though, because I want everything and I live in a room in my parents' house with a poor layout and little space so... yes. Not happening.

I will pass that lamp along to moonsheen for her consideration! A floor lamp is one of the things on her list!
