Yo, internet! I am not dead! I was just in Boston!

I went to see mcwonthelottery this weekend, and had a glorious time seeing an Ingrid Michaelson show. I swear, she and her amazing band of awesomeness get better every time I see them. Dan Romer is touring with them now! There is an accordion! Chris Kuffner did this ridiculous scat on "Locked Up!" Allie Moss ( Read more... )

I hope she wasn't one of the annoying drunk girls who Ingrid chastised!

Hee, joking aside, it was an awesome show. Hers always are. Oh my god, at one point, the whole band huddled together in the middle of the stage to sing "You and I" and it is possibly the most precious thing I've ever seen in my life. I think mcwonthelottery got a video of it.

I certainly hope not, since she's underage...

Let me know next time you're in Boston, if you have time! I'll totally buy you coffee or something.

I saw Ingrid way back in the day (by which I mean 2007), when she was opening for Matt Nathanson, and she was A-MA-ZING. I'd love to go and see her again.

Re: GDL's band, I described them in my journal as "good music to play when you feel like banging your face into the wall (since that's kind of how you feel when you listen to it anyway)." What do you have to be smoking to classify that as blues?

I love that our entire weekend is summed up by this one joke. The concert got like three lines, and the rest is The Life And Times of the Armless Hipster!

Oh my god, this made me laugh so very hard. No, really, I was laughing so hard Hubby asked what I was laughing at, so I read it to him, and he cracked up as well.

BOSTON!

I listened to about 15 seconds of a Blue Gillespie song once. Then I turned off. I just wasn't mentally prepared.

XD to the rest of the entry. You're pretty funny. :)

Oh, we were super prepared. If by "prepared" you meant "delirious from giggles." I am laughing just thinking about it. I want to go back to their MySpace and read their ridiculous band description again, but I'm on my work break and I'm afraid I won't be able to go back on the floor if I'm laughing so hard I can't stand up.

Anyway, I give full credit to the hilarity to mcwonthelottery XD
