Yorba Linda always makes me think of this poem that I had to memorize freshman year at purchase. (Yes, I just lj-usered my alma mater.) When I saw it was a trending topic on Twitter, I had to click on it

Just a... well, sort of a one-shot. It kind of fits into the "Substance of Things Hoped For" AU, but doesn't specifically have to be there. Just trying to get my writing muscles working again.
I totally hate California, and I live here, so I so understand where Will is coming from.
This was very cute.
It reminds me (sadly, and maybe Will read about them, cause it would color his world for sure) of the Yuppy Couple. I don't know who they were, but I was actually in California, thrown out of bed and all, for the Northridge Quake (I graduated from Northridge, and had commuted from home, so I was not that far). There was one couple who died in the quake, not because their house got destroyed, but because they had all this media in their bedroom. The CDs and DVDs and tapes and speakers and books and stuff, all fell and crushed them in bed. It was a few days before they were found. My family called them The Yuppy Couple, and that's all we knew about them. But, this story reminds me of them.
Sorry. I know you probably don't really care, but I had to share...

I especially like them sleepy and disgruntled and a little afraid. And Will TOTALLY hates California. It's a written thing somewhere. :)

John and Cam are still eating my brain, and ditto Stargate, but I'll admit I've missed you writing Sam and Will.
