You made ME laugh. Sounds like you guys had a great time.
Your story reminds me of a bus ride I took once in my youth, when our bus driver didn't know where he was going and we drove round and round somewhere in Pennsylvania, in the middle of the night, in a dodgy area, passing the same places repeatedly, with the entire bus loudly chanting, "Deja vu, the feeling that you've seen or done something before. Deja vu..." over and over again.
(My favorite line in this post though was: we had to talk to the Forum because we were a little tipsy., which I know you meant to write "walk", but I really love the image of you being tipsy and needing to talk to the forum.)
The last time I went to Harrisburg, we were staying in a little hotel not actually IN Harrisburg, but across a river. My sister and I thought it was completely fine for the one night, but my mom threw a fit about it being shabby and wound up spending the night at her brother's house in H'burg instead.
Oh, and my sister and I saw a Waffle House while we were there and totally wanted to go there for kitsch value, because we've never been to one. But alas.
And now my uncle is selling his house, so I will probably never go to Harrisburg again in my life. Oh well.
