Also, in MS Word if you use em-dashes the way I do -- like this -- wherein the em-dash doesn't actually touch text, it counts as its own separate word.

Word counts two spaces as a word? WTF? Word can take my double spaces between sentences when it pries them from my cold, dead fingers. I wonder if there's a way I can tweak this in Settings?

Anyway, KICK ASS on cracking 35k! That's amazing!

It was the opposite problem, actually. The Java applet I was using counted double-spacings as a word and Word did not.

Let's keep two spaces after a period alive, please.
