Hi internet! I have been so busy, you'd almost think I had friends! Here are some tidbits about my AWESOME LIFE.

  • Um, where has Kelly Link been all my life? Seriously, I borrowed Pretty Monsters from The Bookstore on a whim and I fell unequivocally in love. "Magic for Beginners" really spoke to me as a kind of love letter to fans. I could relate ( Read more... )

I met Kelly Link awhile ago, over the summer. She's good friends with the people who run the store I work at, and we sell her books and pimp her shit a lot. She read at an event we had and she is really the sweetest, most intelligent person. Her Scottish husband Gavin is ace, too. And she was so willing to talk with me about writing, etc, etc. I highly recommend buying her books and spreading the word.

When I saw that she was from your neck of the woods, I had a feeling you probably had met her XD You are just all up on what's hip and happening. Or I am years away from what's hip and happening and only find out about it later. One of those. Or maybe both.

I am almost definitely going to end up buying one or both of her other books because I know myself and even though I've declared a moratorium on spending money for the next few weeks, that will last approximately five seconds.

I only have my finger on the hip pulse because it is semi-required for my job, and I get to meet a lot of fun people through my boss' connections. John Hodgeman anyone? I think I might have spelled his name wrong. Oops.

BUT, I am the same way. I said no more spending money, and going to the library has definitely helped though I am always tempted to buy new books. I THINK I might own Stranger Things Happen, and if I do, I will be more than happy to mail it to you for free-ninety-nine. Is it bad when you can't remember what books you've bought?

Try two layers of pink felt with a layer of Elmer's Glue spread between them - the glue should harden and help the ears stay in the correct shape.

Yeah, I was thinking that and then a layer of faux pink fur on the back, like the kind my Olivia dolls are made of. I can't believe no one sells pig ears. It's a terrible short against humanity. Or something.
