I'm almost done with my Doctor Who rewatch. I had forgotten how annoying Martha's infatuation with The Doctor was ( Read more... )

Just popping in uselessly to say that I am all about Ten/Rose and did not know anyone else on the planet was. So yay you!

Yay! I totally am and so is krabapple, so there are at least two others out there XD I don't get why everyone is so against it! It was so sweet and (I thought) very natural and warm and mutual.

Awesome!

It seemed like a natural progression to me as well. And that seemed supported by the Doctor's weirdness with Martha. Silly OTPishness.

I'm with you on disliking Martha's thing for Ten, definitely. I mean, they HAVE good chemistry, but I just don't get romantic or shippy vibes from it at all & I wish she'd just SHUT UP already. For me, Ten/Rose felt a LOT more natural & mutual.

OMG DALEKS. ::hides under bed:: Can't come out, Daleks will eeeeeat me.

I love the Daleks, generally, I don't know exactly why, but that two parter was SO lame. LAAAAAME. (And not just because of ALL THE BLATENT NEW YORK MISTAKES.) But the Dalek-Human-Hybrid was super gross looking.

I mean, if Martha had a little crush on the Doctor it would be totally understandable, but there's no need to bash us in the head with it episode after episode D:

I loathed that two parter, although hilariously I adored Tallulah. I'm not sure why, given she's usually the kind of character I'd hate. BUT I LOVED HER. God, I must be going mad. I just about cried with frustration over the squid-head, though. WAY TO RUIN THE ENTIRE SCARY FACTOR OF DALEKS, RUSTY. I'm surprised the estate of Terry Nation didn't kick his ass to the Isle of Wight over that one. I know I would have.

DW!Jack also kicks TW!Jack's ass any day. I much, much prefer him in DW. Particularly with Rose and Nine, but yeah. Dammit. Now I want to go watch Nine. Huh. I'm still amused by the fact that although Ten got me into watching the new series it's Nine I love best. <3 I much prefer Rose/Nine over Rose/Ten, too, but I now just wish they'd shut the fuck up about it, stop wangsting on about TWU WUV and just have ALIENS. Because as character-centric as I like my stories, RIGHT NOW I JUST WANT GOO. ALIEN GOO. WHO COME THROUGH WITH THE GOO.

...yeah, I need sleep. I'm sorry. ^__________^

Oh man, there were so many issues with it. I just wanted to stab my eyes out.

I can't even watch Torchwood. It makes SGA look like fabulous and award-winning television. The acting alone makes me hurt inside. Joe Flanigan's bad acting has NOTHING on John Barrowman's bad acting. IT HURTS ME. But not as much on DW. Probably because it's a superiorly written show so I have other things to distract me.

I liked it better the second time I saw it, which I thought was...fairly odd. I saw it the first time it aired on the BBC and was so embarrassed to be watching it (and I was watching it with an eight and a six year old, for God's sake!) and I only saw it again in...probably December last year, when I figured I'd paid for the whole box set, I might as well WATCH that disc. Ha. But yeah. Someone ought to have been fired over that one.

...I have issues galore with Torchwood. The firts series in particular; I kept missing episodes when it was airing and not really caring. The second seems to have improved somewhat, but it really is just crack!fic ON THE TELLY. Which isn't all that good a thing at all. With that said, it does have moments of shiny. Which probably makes it even worse. It's just terrible, to me, that my favourite episode (Adam) had a concept done better on probably less than half the budget on a late 1980's BBC sci-fic sitcom. You'd think they'd do it better fifteen years later with a bigger budget. But then, I suppose it's ( ... )

As a New Yorker, Jack running after the TARDIS and clinging to the side as it soars through the vortex puts me in the mind of someone sprinting to catch the subway, failing, then clinging to the doors as it zooms down the tunnels, complete with a subway poster saying "This may be the last subway ride he ever takes" or whatever it says.

And I loved Martha and Ten's usual dynamic, so when she got all piney I wanted to jab her with a stick. And now I adore Donna, because I don't think she's likely to fall into that trap.

Oh man, I just cracked up AGAIN. Something about that image of Jack just sends me tittering. OH JACK. Hilarity.

That's the thing--I really do like Martha! Not as much as Rose, but I do enjoy her and I like her dynamic with the Doctor, but, oh my GOD, her stupid crush is totally, totally ridic. D:
