Title: The Johnny's Handbook On Life, The Universe, And Everything. (What Juniors Do In Their Free Time)
Rating: PG
Pairing: Sanada/Nozawa (maybe), Uekusa/Kyomoto, Takahashi/Yamamoto, (sort of) Masuda/Yasui - Aka, a lot of Juniors.
Summary: Shintaro is trying to create the holy bible of JE whilst a lot of pretty Juniors protest against their stereotyped existence. Random damsel in distress moments, male ego injury, and flailing.
Prompt: You're pretty like a woman.
Warnings: Minor language, boyxboy kisses, vaguely implied other things (for the legal ones).
Notes: Written for
je_ficgames (Team Present). What happens when you have sprite at 2AM. Slightly disjointed, perhaps a bit too corny, lots of random little ones running around. Snow Princes are such brats, homg.
“What'cha doing, Shin-chan?” Otsuka Yuya bounced over to the older boy, grinning toothily. The rest of the Snow Princes all turned their gaze, equally curious in an instant, ten pairs of eyes trained on their ring leader.
“Writing a book~,” was the simple reply.
“Aboooooout?” Otsuka draped over the couch's arm rest, bobbing his head from side to side.
“My memoirs as a Johnny's Junior,” Shintaro smiled over his shoulder at the other, not minding but still covering up the words on the page. Yes, yes he was inking these words down. It made them more real to his young mind. And he didn't want Otsuka reading them because nobody could read it until it got published. Sometime, someday in the future.
Chino Aoi popped up out of nowhere and stole the notebook, dashing away with a tiny giggle.
“Chino...” Shintaro slid his way off the couch, sitting cross legged on the floor. “Bring it back here.”
Hugging the notebook to his chest, Chino shook his head defiantly for a moment. A few more seconds of Shintaro's disapproving stare and he caved, scurrying back and plopping it in Shintaro's lap. “It's a list though,” He protested. “That's not a book!”
Shintaro smiled, relenting slightly. “I guess I could explain everything,” He patted the ground at his side. Chino snuggled next to him as Otsuka bounced onto the couch, reading over his shoulder and joined by Hashimoto. Okada stole Shintaro's free side and the rest gathered in close, hanging in on every word.
“Common Johnny's Misconception Number One,” He read.
“How many are there?” One of them whispered and Shintaro just grinned.
“There are a lot,” He told them all.
For a good reason, too.

Common Johnny's Misconception #3 - All Johnny's are gay. (Note: If they claim to be otherwise, then they only like girls when another boy is not available.).
Nozawa Yuuki gave his reflection a hard stare, fingers brushing over cheekbones as he studied himself, not exactly happy with the results.
“Goddammit,” He told himself, turning away from the mirror with a huff. Silly though it may be to get so fussy about it, his looks bothered him on so many different levels. Being considered 'pretty' wasn't really a compliment in his book, but he got it nearly every day. It was inevitable that one of his groupmates would bounce in and coo 'Non-chan, why so pretty today~?'
...Of course, half the time that was said mockingly.
Whether meant in jest or awe, it all boiled down to the fact that Nozawa Yuuki was considered to be the girl of the group and he didn't like that one bit.
“What's up~?” Sanada flopped down on the couch, pulling Nozawa down with him. “You're pouting~.”
Nozawa pouted at the comment and then caught himself, trying to smooth his expression into that of mere distaste. “It's just annoying!” He complained. “Everyone calls me pretty and a girl and just...what the hell!” He crossed his arms over his chest and glowered at the rubber toes of his sneakers, as if expecting them to turn from white to purple.
“But,” Sanada blinked at him for a moment. “you are really pretty!”
Nozawa closed his eyes for a moment, trying to not smack his palm to his forehead. Sanada was nice and all. Nozawa actually really liked him. He was a great friend and tons of fun to be around.
But there were moments in time, just like this one, where he wanted to brain the other.
“That...is besides the point,” He finally told the other.
“How?” Sanada laughed, reaching over to ruffle Nozawa's hair, earning an indignant squawk and a swat. “C'mon, it's okay...you don't have to fight it.”
Nozawa stared at the other for a few moments, confused. “Fight what?”
“It's okay!” Sanada told him earnestly. “We'd all understand it too! There's nothing wrong with being...well, you know...”
“....What?” There were a few seconds where all Nozawa could do was gape at his friend. When he did find his voice, it came out in a half screech. “You think I'm gay!?” He wasn't even sure how Sanada could have assumed the two things were connected.
Pretty did not equal gay!
Taken aback, Sanada cowered. Though Nozawa screaming wasn't half as scary as say, Fujigaya screaming, it was still rather terrifying because Nozawa was one of those gentle creatures that would never hurt a fly.
Maybe that made it more terrifying.
Nozawa opened his mouth to yell something, anything, when Miyadate stuck his head in. “Hey, gu-oh...” he turned his head and spoke to what Nozawa assumed was the rest of the group. “Guys, they're having alone time right now, I think.”
“Ugh,” they could hear Sakuma whining. “Tell them to stop making out, all my stuff is in there!”
“W-what?!” Nozawa spluttered, head whipping around from Sanada to the doorway. “We are not--! He's not!-- We're not dating!!”
“What's that got to do with anything?” Watanabe peered around Miyadate.
“See? It's perfectly okay!” Sanada exclaimed, gesturing to the rest of the group. “They understand.”
Nozawa looked from the doorway to Sanada and back again, looking rather perturbed. Sanada was handsome and amazing and talented. He made Nozawa smile a lot. They hung out a lot together. Nozawa probably considered him one of his best friends. Come to think of it, Sanada's smile was kind of awesome...And he thought that Nozawa was pretty...
“Goddammit!” He swore, palm smacking into his forehead. Flouncing up off the couch, he stalked out the door, wading through groupmates still crowding around. “I need a girlfriend.”
“I approve of this idea!” Fukazawa called after him.

Common Johnny's Misconception #29 - All Johnny's are perfectly okay with being gay.
“Yuta, what are you doing?” Kyomouto Taiga protested, pushing Uekusa Yuta away and scooting to the other side of the couch. “It's not funny!”
Looking quite disappointed, Uekusa backed off. “You kissed me last night...” He mumbled under his breath.
Kyomoto turned scarlet, stammering. “That...you took me by surprise! We were almost doing the curtain call! I was distracted.”
There was a pause.
“You still kissed me.” Uekusa pointed out.
“Will you stop reminding me,” Kyomoto hissed from behind his fingers, unsure of how he still had feeling in them, seeing as all his blood seemed to be in his cheeks at the moment. It didn't help that his heart was pounding.
“Are you saying you didn't like it...?” Uekusa tried to peer around the other's fingers, reaching out to gently tug them away. “Taiga~, come on,” he coaxed.
“No!” Kyomoto stubbornly pulled away again, curling into the armrest.
“Will you stop acting like such a girl, Taiga!” Uekusa complained, half heartedly wondering if they could just skip to tonight. He could steal another kiss, if that's what it took to get one from the other.
Kyomoto shot up at his words, turning on him. “I'm not a girl! And will you stop acting like this is so normal, because it's not!” It was one of those moments that really showed how differently they'd been raised.
“I'm sorry, I'm sorry,” Holding his hands up as if in defeat, Uekusa tried to appease the other, even if Taiga resembled a girl in more then one way. No point in offending whatever male honor he had. “I know you're not a girl, Taiga....but this isn't...as weird as you're making it out to be.”
“We kissed!” Kyomoto blushed again, pouting his lips out. “You're a guy!”
“So are you!”
“That's my point, you dummy,” Kyomoto was torn between mortification and exasperation. It wasn't fair that Uekusa was being so cool about this when Kyomoto was half freaked out already.
“You still kissed me back,” Uekusa gave him a slow smile. “Boy, girl, what does it matter, Taiga?”
“It's weird.” Taiga insisted with a soft whine. He was running out of arguments but there was no denying that he was scared of it all. Uekusa took his hand, smiling gently.
“It's only weird if you want it to be....” He reminded him gently. “Can we try that again?”
Kyomoto gaped for a moment, trying to come up with some sort of response. The first response was an instant No, which was simple enough except for the second reponse was a much more insistent yes!
Whatever ended up showing on his face, it was enough for Uekusa to gently lean in, lightly brushing his lips against Kyomoto's.
There weren't fireworks or anything...it was much like the first kiss they'd shared behind the curtains the night before. Soft, tentative, a bit curious on both parts.
Kyomoto wasn't sure what to think of it. He wasn't sure if he liked it at all.
He also wasn't sure if he maybe liked it a whole lot..

Common Johnny's Misconception #64 - All Johnny's are really girls underneath it all.
Yamamoto Ryouta sat on the edge of the bed, brooding. It was such an unusual mood for him, he wasn't sure what to do about it, but today was one of those days where everything got under his skin. Eda had jokingly asked if he'd been on his period.
It hadn't helped.
The sheets gently rustled behind him as long arms wrapped around his waist. “Mou,” Takahashi Ryu rested his chin on the blond's shoulder. “Are you going to stay mad at me forever?”
“Maybe,” Yamamoto huffed slightly. “You'd deserve it.”
Fingers traced meaningless patterns over his stomach. “I don't even know why you're mad at me,” He didn't have to look to know that Takahashi was giving him that earnest puppy look. It was just as well, really. He wanted to stay mad this time.
“You told Bun-chan to keep his hands off me because I'm your girlfriend!” Yamamoto wriggled, looking away, still indignant. “He laughed!”
“...He didn't do anything though,” Takahashi curled around him more, sounding rather confused.
“You don't know what his inner laugh looks like,” Yamamoto replied shortly.
“Right,” Takahashi nodded, just trying to go with the flow and get himself back into the other's good graces. “But...what's wrong with calling you my girlfriend? I was joking!”
Yamamoto rubbed his eyes, turning slightly in the other's arms to give him a reproachful look. “Look...it bothers me when you say stuff like that, okay?”
Takahashi was actually taking him seriously, thank god. “I'm sorry,” He gave Yamamoto an apologetic smile. “Why, Ryo-chan? I mean...I know you're not a girl...but you're so cute and sweet and you like pink and yellow and diamonds and...well, you're kinda pretty too, when you smile, and--”
Yamamoto lay a finger over the other's lips, silencing him. “I'm glad you think that,” He murmured, managing a small smile. “But I'm never going to be a girl, Ryu~.”
“....I don't get it.”
Sighing, Yamamoto closed his eyes. “It's just...a personal thing, I guess. I mean, I've always been considered really good looking...and I prefer dancing over sports and I do like rhinestones and stuff. A lot of guys in high school would tease me and call me a girl and stuff...I don't like it,” He explained. “I'm never going to be a girl...and I'm not one right now. I want to be your boyfriend, because I'll never be your girlfriend.”
He could tell that his words really weren't making much sense to the other, but Takahashi smiled anyways, his eyes filled with affection. “I promise I'll never call you my girlfriend again.”
That was good enough for Yamamoto to finally smile back, his dimple showing as he giggled softly. “Thanks, Ryu~.”
“Now, is my boyfriend going to give me a proper kiss?” Takahashi asked, plaintively. “I haven't gotten one all day. Eeeeh~,” He pitched his voice. “Ryocchi is so meeeean.”
“I'll show you mean!” Yamamoto exclaimed, twisting to tickle the other. The plan backfired, seeing as Takahashi wasn't ticklish at all and Yamamoto was. Things dissolved into a wrestling match, the two boys rolling around, getting tangled in sheets, and occasionally knocking heads against each other or the bed frame.
“Y-you're...evil...” Yamamoto panted as they lay in a heap.
“I'm evil?” Takahashi demanded, just as winded. “You kneed me in the gut!”
Raising his head, Yamamoto threw a glare in the general direction of the other's head, but just ended up laughing. Being grouchy was no fun....Though, with the way Takahashi was now crawling over him, he wasn't going to complain with the results.
“You still owe me a kiss.”

Common Johnny's Misconception #81 - All Johnny's fall in love with each other.
“Mmm, but he didn't mention dating anyone...” Yasui Kentaro groggily woke up to sounds of Tanaka Juri's stage whispering. His head felt slightly jammed between couch cushion and...a body?
“I dunno, they look kinda cozy...” That was Noeru, with his nervous little laugh that made even a half asleep Yasui twitch. He was still trying to figure out what was pinning him down. Whatever, no, whoever it was...was rather heavy.
“Maybe he just didn't want to tell us?” Casey's voice floated from above and Yasui mentally groaned. How many people were there? And what were they doing? How interesting was it to watch two people sleep?
“Eeeey~,” That was...Yasui wasn't even sure who that was, but he could feel someone nudge at whoever was on the couch with him. “Masuda-kun. Wakey-wakey, you're squishing Yasui-kun!”
There was a jerk and a jolt and suddenly Yasui was free to move. His head, anyways. Lifting it, he found himself face to face with a surprised Masuda Ryo, the lanky Junior somehow tangled over and around Yasui's smaller frame. They were both still half awake but already feeling completely awkward.
Yasui couldn't even remember falling asleep, let alone with someone else on the couch.
“Yasui-kun!” Noeru sounded more happy now that Yasui had surfaced. “I didn't know you two were so close.”
Yasui belatedly realized that they had maybe ten or twelve juniors surrounding them, all watching with mixed expressions of curiosity, amusement, and smugness.
Takada Sho was playfully whacking Masuda over the head. “You never said you liked older women,” He teased playfully.
“What the hell!” Masuda exclaimed, bolting upright, freeing on of Yasui's arms. He pushed himself upright and away from the taller boy as quickly as possible.
“At least he's cute,” Takada added, solemnly.
“We're not--!”
“You better treat him well,” Casey added, giving Masuda a rather piercing gaze. “Otherwise we'll all have to get you.”
“Oi!” Yasui tried to cut in, but to no avail. The younger juniors were all chiming in, adding their own questions to the mix, some of which appalled Yasui. Maybe he'd just joined at a later age then most, but he'd never dreamed of asking about such things at that age.
He hid behind his hair, cheeks burning bright red, refusing to answer anything as people battered him and Masuda with questions and jokes. It was almost getting to be too much when suddenly--
“Fine then!” Masuda exclaimed, jumping to his feet. “If you're going to be like that!” He turned to where Yasui was still sitting. “Yasui-kun.”
Blinking in surprise and slight horror, Yasui looked up, only to find himself flying over the other's shoulder. “What the fuck!”
“We'll just be taking our leave then,” Masuda continued on as if Yasui wasn't thrown over his shoulder like a damsel in distress. Wheeling around, he trotted away, leaving Yasui to bob around, yowling the occasional protest.
Surprisingly, no one followed them. Yasui vaguely entertained the thought that most of the boys really weren't in to voyeurism. Then he wondered why that would even matter.
It didn't.
Right?
“You can put me down now,” He twisted slightly, talking to the back of Masuda's head and he was gently placed back on the ground. “What was that about?” He asked, wrinkling his nose as he looked at the other. Up at the other. Damn, Masuda was a good few inches taller.
“Come on, they weren't going to stop anytime soon,” Masuda shrugged slightly with the explanation. “Better to give them something to talk about amongst themselves, right?”
Yasui sighed, trying to understand the other's logic. They'd actually known each other for a couple years by now, having joined in the same year, but Yasui knew he had a good two and a half years on the other. “They're never going to shut up about this,” He huffed, crossing his arms.
“Naaah, just wait until someone finds Goseki-kun behind the costume racks,” Masuda replied with confidence. “And just so you know...I'm so not in to older women.”
Yasui had to wonder why that statement was still relevant and gave the other a slightly confused smile. “Okay....?”
There was a pause. A long, slightly awkward, but still mostly okay silence.
“You make a good pillow,” Masuda decided to add.
Yasui's smile didn't change much. “Thanks.”
“Can I use you again?” Masuda's expression turned chagrined as he realize how that sounded aloud. “I mean. Not that...You know. But...really. Warm....But!”
Yasui laughed, hiding a smile behind slender fingers. “It's fine. I don't mind.”
Masuda relaxed again and then nodded to the left. “There's a couch back there.”

“Do people really think those sorts of things?” Otsuka piped up when Shintaro finished what he'd written. “Because that's just weeeeird,” his nose wrinkled in childish disgust. “But girls are weird too.”
“You won't always say that,” Shintaro said, rather wisely. Not that he would know himself, to him girls still had cooties...but Ryutaro, his older brother, he seemed to think girls were cute now.
Disgusting, really.
“But this is just for your Junior days, ne, Shin-chan?” Chino tugged on the older boy's arm.
“Of course!” Shintaro looped his arm around little Chino's shoulder and regarded the rest of the group. “One day we'll be the best group that ever was!”
A chorus of 'Yeah's followed his words.
“I call being Kimura-san!” Otuska called out firmly, and they all began to bicker again.
