Hi, internet. Today was a three hour meeting day. Thus, a meme.

So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious but you have no idea about, or something obscure you just have to know. Ask away. All topics, within reason*, are open for discussion.

I'll answer when I get home! :D

As a kid did you ever wish for anything really weird? Like needing glasses, or a pet pig, or something?

Hm......... I was always on the cusp of needing glasses as a kid--when they did the yearly vision/hearing/colorblind testing at school, I was so close to needing glasses that I always got a referral for a follow-up with an optometrist. So I spent a lot of my childhood...not necessarily wanting glasses, but not adverse to the idea and preparing myself for it?

But weird things I wanted. Hm. Uh, I really wanted Inspector Gadget sheets when I was a little kid, but none existed. I don't know if that's sufficiently weird, but it's all I can think of XD

What's one movie that everyone thinks should be watched (any *classic*) that you haven't seen?

I actually haven't seen tons of "classic" movies from the 60s-present because I...don't watch a ton of mainstream movies? I mostly watch kids' movies, horror movies, and the occasional superhero flick. I really like classic Hollywood, so I've seen most of those, but things like romantic comedies and dramas I've just...missed out on entirely.

Craziest/weirdest thing you were asked as a bookstore employee? (I think you used to be a bookstore employee. If I'm wrong about that, what's your favorite kind of cake?)

I'll have to think of the craziest thing I was ever asked, but the craziest conversation I ever overheard was one where a mother told her child that he couldn't get the Narnia books because she heard somewhere that they were very unChristian and anti-Jesus. I figure she was probably getting them confused with His Dark Materials, but it was very hard not to start laughing outright.

Oh MY.

Not quite on that level but I have (as a customer) seen parents steering kids away from the 'graphic novel' section with the explanation that 'graphic' = porn.

Hi!

What's your favorite thing about living in Boston? :)

Hiiiiii! :D How are you? Aside from, you know, crazy on edge because of election night?

My favorite thing about Boston. HM. To be honest, it's really my friends. The city itself really isn't my favorite place in the world and there are a lot of things about it that vaguely annoy me, but I have a really great support system here that I don't have anywhere else right now :)

Hiii! I am good! And crazy! And (surprise!) pregnant! So also, tired and ill. But mostly, very good :)

And I thought that might be your answer. I was in Boston for like 48 hours once and didn't get a chance to see anything. But I love the way you talk about New York, so was wondering if you had found anything worth saying about Boston. But having friends and a support system are the best! :)

HOLY CRAP CONGRATULATIONS! :D :D :D :D That's great!! Oh my god! :D :D :D

Yeah, I don't know that I have too much to say about Boston yet as a city. There's a lot of interesting history? And I like my town. But it's not necessarily filled with lots of awesome little places that I love the way that New York is. Maybe it will be with time?
