MICHAEL BLUTH: My life is awkward.
MICHAEL'S BLUTH'S SON, MAYBE ALSO NAMED MICHAEL: I love my cousin Maeby! Apparently this is not weird because I'm Michael Cera! Awkward. Awkward. Awkward.
MICHAEL BLUTH'S SISTER...LINDSAY?: My husband is cheating on me with my brother! Even though my brother was involved with my other brother! THIS IS UNBEARABLE.
[audience laughs?]
MICHAEL BLUTH: We are the best, most critically acclaimed show in recent memory. I can't believe we got cancelled.

Once upon a time there was a banana stand. People were told there was money in it. People scoffed.
Then it burned to the ground, and they realized that was not the metaphor they thought it was.
A clan of poorly socialized white-collar criminals berated each other before, during, and after this incident. With wit, of course. That's what makes it a comedy and not a tragedy.
