A hospital show where everyone is part of a giant Love Dodecahedron, which patients are occasionally dragged into. No one ever seems happy, even when they specifically state that they are happy, because of the Masochism Tango of always wanting their relationship status to be the opposite of whatever it currently is.

I have never watched Grey's Anatomy, but I have seen that episode of Supernatural where they had the show that I think was maybe based on Grey's Anatomy. And my friend once bitched to me about it. Dr Christina Yang and Dr Lucius Vorenus had a fling, while Dr McDreamy and someone else performed life-saving operations and flirtation techniques. Several people's hearts were broken, but that was all right because several doctors were cardiologists at the top of their field. Patients rarely died, unless of extreme pathos, which was lucky, because most of the doctors preferred having sex in the supply closets to actually providing medical care.

"I thought this was going to be the hospital where that misanthropic janitor terrorises the doctor with the daddy issues and the ridiculous hair," muttered the intern as he watched Katherine Heigl make out with a patient, get engaged to him, deliberately make him sicker, get a tumor, lose all her hair and go off to make some rom-coms. "All those Journey songs I learned ... what a waste."
Humming distractedly, the intern headed downstairs for a cup of coffee, passing a supply closet in which two attractive doctors were making desperate, passionate love while another watched, crying silently.
Meanwhile, in a nearby ward, three patients flatlined.
