Pairing: Jack/Ianto

There are a two things Jack takes before he leaves.

One is a tiny, post-it note paper airplane, folded flat, with the edges folded and crumpled. It’s a few months old, but it’s tiny and meaningless and just perfect because he’s the only one who understands it.

A normal, completely normal day in the hub, surrounded by such familiar sounds. He opens his office door and just listens, sometimes. Gwen and Owen are bickering over something over in the autopsy room, and Tosh is up to something on her laptop, typing away with abandon. Ianto, however is nowhere in sight

I don't deal well with post-CoE, but I loved the significance of what Jack takes with him. Very nice.

I don't either, but the muses were feeling angsty. :P Meh, I wrote enough non-CoE to make me happy.

Besides, as far as I'm concerned, some fixit-or-other occurs not too long after this, so no worries, Jack gets to give Ianto his key back. :D

I like to imagine, just for MORE HEARTBREAK, that the airplane thing happened literally the day before Fragments/Exit Wounds.

Love the paper airplane. Hate CoE. I myself wrote a fix-it, but it was fluffy Crack. You can never tell what your bunnies are going to do.
