randomly...

So, I was watching "Adrift" this morning after downing a handful of motrin, mostly because I love it and I missed it on the SciFi marathon last Friday. Naysayers be damned, I thought it was a remarkably exciting and fast-paced season premiere, especially after such an explosive season finale.

Anyway.

I was watching it and had to pause at one point for snickers and pondering. When John and Radek are on their way to fix the hyperdrive, they have this (-ish) conversation:
John: All right. Looks like we're gonna have to jump.
Radek: I can't jump a hundred feet!

Radek says "I" instead of "we." Does he think John can jump a hundred feet? What kind of stories does Rodney tell about away missions?

Which led, of course, to a whole other train of thought that involved Rodney telling thrilling stories about his off-world missions in the labs, while Zelenka and Simpson bang their heads against the tables and all the scientists who have crushes on Sheppard gather around and sigh dreamily. (Rodney, of course, edits these adventures slightly so that everything that John does wrong is a result of his own stupidity and his manwhoreishness and everything that Rodney does wrong--things that are few and far between, mind you--is also a result of John's stupidity.)

So, basically, what I'm getting at here is a) Radek secretly thinks John is a superhero, b) I want fic where Rodney tells ridiculous stories about missions to his minions, who are either bored to tears or spend the entire time fawning over Sheppard, c) unrelatedly, am I the only one who thinks Rodney might start learning Czech insults in self-defense?

These are the things that I think about.

(Well, that and my totally minority opinion that there should be more Sam in S4 than we're getting. I know I'm just about the only person on the internet who thinks that, though, so I'll let it slide.)
