Today's been sort of rough at work, so I was expecting disappointment when I opened my inbox and discovered an email from the Showbox annoucing a September show by Peter Bjorn & John.  Surely 21+, like everything I've wanted to see, ever?  Nope!  It's all ages, and tickets go on sale June 15th.  *squee*  And to make things even better, there's also ( Read more... )

I've missed almost all the good recent shows in Lawrence and caught Rooney instead.

However, Hot Chip and Tortoise are co-headlining this weekend at the Granada, hell yes.

There's a lot of good shows in Lawrence, but it's nothing but bad news when you're seeing a band that played a show in like the second episode of The OC. I would really like to see Tortoise, though. And you're within easy striking distance of the Pitchfork festival!

Yes! You should def come during summer, the weather is amazing and I only have one class and freeeee tiiiiime. So anytime is okay for me, although the super easiest would be in between summer and fall quarters (August 18-September 25). Would some time in there work? Or would you rather come for fall break again? It would be awesome if you have time for more than just a weekend too.

i'm working full time pretty much from now until school starts, with the exception of the two weeks i'll be spending in cincinnati. the only time between summer and fall quarters that i could possibly make it out would be labor day weekend. i could skip classes on the friday before or the tuesday after since it's at the beginning of the semester and make a little longer trip out of it. but i don't know what your plans are for labor day. other than that, fall break would also work.

Actually Labor Day would be awesome, because there's a huge music festival here that's really fun, it runs September 1-3. And I think this year I'm going to get the special passes so you don't have to wait in lines and have a secret hideaway to escape the crowds. Does that sound fun to you or totally awful? If it sounds awful then fall break is okay too.
