Notes: Wrote this for the scifiland bingo. Aeryn in 4.18 Prayer
She looks at the hologram of the proto-fetus, thinks of the seed inside her and smiles. She knows that she will do anything to protect her unborn child. Anything.
So she decieves. She tells them of Velorek, of her betrayal. She never forgave herself, and it hurts. But she will stay strong for her child. She will endure. She will die if she has to.
So she lies. She tells them of Lechna, of how she was a spy. She weaves a story of a life as an assassin. A story about the men she killed. She denies ever loving the man named Crichton. She forgot everything about that man from Earth.
She tries to hold on. Tries to hide the truth. But the pain is too great and all she has left is memories of him and how perfect their love was. And the pain of denying them exceeds even the torture.
So she breaks.
There is no Lechna I made him up. Just Crichton. Only ever Crichton. Just him.
