I have been too busy to update, but I guess that it payid off as I got the result of my tenure and promotion review. I got tenure and got promoted to Associate Professor of Chemistry effective August 1st 2006.

Congratulations!! Yay for the pay raise!

Well, the pay raise is a joke ($1000), but it is better than nothing. The only "real" advantages are job security because of the tenure (you have to really mess up BIG time to be fired once you get tenure) and braging rights for the promotion (get to move ahead of the Faculty line up for Graduation ...).
