I am currently searching through manuscript for uses of "which" that should really be "that."

Note:  after viewing the word "which" in text at 200% standard size about 800x, it will start to look really, really weird.

Search feature is your friend.

Although, it seems like only the strictest grammarians even know the difference anymore.

Manuscript is being published by legal publisher with exacting standards that must be consistent book to book, and that is one of them! So I edit.

And I'm loving my search feature right now. Word "which," however, still is looking really, really odd to me. Like "not a word" odd.

Hah. I know what you mean. "Tree" did that to me one time.

I'm a finance editor, I was trained to those exacting standards, as well. The stuff I work on now, although finance, is not nearly as strictly edited. They don't WANT me to change stuff, not if it's only kinda wrong and not REALLY wrong. And they refuse to answer me on grammar-related style questions for the most part.

Ah well. At least it pays. :)
