Oh wow! I'm not the only one without their license, who doesn't want one. I don't feel so alone now. :x Driving scares me too, I get horribly nervous and anxious. I don't trust myself behind the wheel, so I'd rather just take public transportation.
It's hard for me too, being around large groups of people and not being able to join in, yet once I've joined in I feel more comfortable, than one-on-one with someone else that I hardly know. If you really feel lonely, I do suggest you make new friends. You could still arange times throughout the holidays to see your other buddies, maybe? I'm only 15, so I suck at advice, :P but I can relate to feeling crazy nervous around big groups of people. I know I'm taking a big step by saying this, and maybe you don't me to... but, I'll be praying for you. :)
I could try meeting people at the orientation since it's grouped by major, that I way I may know someone in my classes? Hopefully there'll be another loner like me, and we can pair up. That would be better than being a mute until graduation. :-/
Yea, that should work. :) Yea, it would be much better than being mute. I should try that at my youthgroup... I'm the wallflower there, whereas everyone else enjoys themselves, :P
Hey, I just stumbled across your journal and started following the Queen Bee story. Highly amusing, and I'll have to try it in the near future. Popping out little simbabies is probably my favorite part of the game.
But I wanted to let you know that I'm actually from Davis. Didn't go to UCD (headed up to Chico for a couple years, now I'm back in the Davis area community colleges). And the campus can be really overwhelmingly full of people. The town, though, can make a really nice escape, if you can find the time. I found that out in Chico too. Sometimes you just need to take a step away for a bit (I don't really like lots of people either).
And a good thing about Davis: driving is 100% not necessary. :) While having the license is good, you don't need to use it if you really don't feel like it.
Anyway, congrats in getting in, I enjoy your stories, and good luck dealing with new school/town jitters. Feel free to contact me if you ever have any questions about Davis.
It's so nice to meet someone from the area! I've actually only been in Davis once before, so that probably has something to do with my anxiety about having to go there.
