Last night i had a little emergency at work.

An old lady complained about feeling shaky. I checked her blood pressure.

230/120 at least. I stopped at that numbers and went and called our version of 911 for cases who doesn't need instant effort (she talked coherent and joked with me)

My mother lives with me and is almost 85. She's let me know in no uncertain terms does she want extraordinary actions taken to save her life if it comes down to it. She doesn't want to die but she's realistic too. What everyone wants is compassion so if you gave it to the woman, you helped her.

One reason why i work the nights is, that i have the time to show compassion.
During the days it isn't even possible to stay a few minutes and talk.
