I almost thought that the Doctor was totally faking Jack out-which would have been highly funny. Great story, though. And I'm glad he finally told Jack thanks.

*laughs* That would have been totally funny! I confess that there was a point where I was tempted to make it all a joke. But I set out to make it a sweet kiss for my friend.

I always felt a little indignant on behalf of Jack (and Martha) for how the Doctor never seemed to be as full of praise and thanks for him as he was with someone like Rose or Donna. So I couldn't resist the opportunity to fix that!
