DATE: Day 98 CHARACTER(S): Near and whoever else comes along~ STATUS: OPEN~ SUMMARY: Near heads down to the media center to look for the puzzles he heard should be there. LOCATION: Media Center
So he's been banned from the media center, but then he had disappeared. That should mean that he could go in there now, right? It'd been long enough, plus he was super bored. There was just so much one person could do around Pluto, and he didn't really feel like doing any actual work for the paper. He'd only signed up because Zach had once been on it. He figured he could be closer to his memory.. but it wasn't working.
Billy had been hiding among the computer games section when he had heard someone enter. His eyes widened and he ducked down behind one of the shelves to see who it was. He sighed heavily when he noticed the light hair boy. He hadn't seen him around before, but then his mind was still trying to catch up to him. He did have more memories floating around in his head now. He stepped out of his hiding spot and smiled at the boy.
"Looking for something, people could get lost in here if they're not careful."
Kate, taking a very much needed break, entered the media center. She was planning on her quest to catch up on Torchwood and Dr. Who when she noticed the white haired boy. She also noticed Billy.
"Hey Billy, wasn't one of us banned from the media center?" teased the girl. She had no intention of reporting her friend to the others but giving him a hard time was perfectly okay in her book.
She gave a nod to Near. "Its not often I see you outside your room. What brings you to the media center?"
It wasn't long before I noticed someone approaching me, and paused in my tracks so as not to be rude. I blinked up at the man as he addressed me and glanced to one side. "Yes... I was told there may be puzzles here. Do you, perchance, have an idea where they might be located?"
He had my attention, and I suppose he might have been about to answer when someone suddenly entered behind me. The voice was one I recognized, and I gave a soft smile as my Captain came into view.
"Good afternoon, Captain. It's a pleasure to see you. I was informed I could find puzzles and things of the sort to occupy my time here, so I've come to see if I might be able to find them."
Kate ignored Billy's silence for a moment to look fully at Near. She figured that Billy was coming up with a perfectly horrible excuse for being in the media center.
The police captain nodded. "I see. There might be things like that in one of these sections in the media center. There are a lot of sections and I haven't personally looked for puzzles around here. I usually keep to the movies and library section."
I nodded in understanding. I didn't expect there to be many people here aboard the ship who took such an interest in puzzles, though I couldn't truly be sure. It just seemed to me that people had more of a tendancy to be off doing their own thing. Puzzles didn't seem likely to fit into those various activities.
"It's very good that you read." I nodded, the small smile still on my face. "I suppose I'll try looking for some sort of game area. It seems likely that board games or puzzles would be located in such a section."
Kate nodded and pointed in the direction of the games. "That is where they keep the board games. You might find some puzzles in that area too. Like I said, I don't usually go into that section."
My eyes lit up, thrilled that she was able to set me off in the direction I needed to go.
"Aah, thank you, Captain! Your help is very much appreciated."
I turned to hurry off to the games section, but paused after a few steps to turn and look back at her. I know she said she wasn't one for games, but to be polite...
"I don't suppose you'd like to try a hand of chess or something for a bit?" I asked, curling my toes around my socks as I fidgeted slightly.
Kate had to stop and think for a moment. She didn't know how to play chess but it could be an opportunity to learn. She mostly focused on archery and martial arts when she was growing up.
"I don't really know how to play chess but I'm up for something new. It couldn't hurt," mused the archer.
