He noticed no change in his own body during the power overload. Many unfortunate victims were reaching the peak of dangerous abilities normally kept under control. Steve never thought that Tony would be lumped in with the mess, but of course, he had control over technology. Technopath was the technical term, wasn't it? Living in the future, on a technologically advanced ship...his head must be splitting in two ( ... )

It was nerve wrecking how fast things had gone bad. One minute he was happily painting, and the next, all hell had broken loose. Whatever had caused this, whatever was happening. He hadn't been effected, which always seemed to happen. He was the one on the outside, looking in, watching as his friends suffered. He didn't want to be that person anymore, he hated it. Perhaps that's why he didn't pay anyone any mind. He'd rule off, not running to the rescue of the people who couldn't protect themselves, later. Now, Tony needed him.

He ran as fast as he could towards the lab. The only place Tony would be. But he'd been beaten there. The other him, was already with Tony. He shook his head and frowned as he hurried over to them, just catching the last bits of what the other Steve was saying.

"It won't help. The Extremis doesn't need to be near technology to control it. I.." He didn't actually know how to stop the Extremis. He didn't think anyone but Tony did. Which was NOT a good thing.

Tony was only a silent observer to the men in his lab. They were both the same, and the screens in the lab flickered to life, and a projection of Tony came up on the screen. It flickered, died, and then reactivated.

He couldn't keep it steady. There was too much going on in his head. He never thought he would ever say it, but there was only so much that a man could do before his body just shut down so that nearly all brain-function was focused on the mental, instead of the external. His eyes were open, but when the synapses were fired, his brain didn't pick them up. He breathed through his nose, but couldn't smell anything. The only thing his body did in movement was convulse slightly when he threw up occasionally.

His image flared and fizzed again. "He's right," a digitalized voice, which was a pretty good imitation of his actual voice, although it fazed in and out just like the image. "There's-" it faded out, before cutting back in. "-Much-" This time, the image and sound cut out completely.

Called out on his ignorance just as expected. Isolating Tony would be too easy. The other Steve explained Extremis briefly--this thing Tony used to mimic technopathic abilities.

Steve let go of Tony and stood back as the digitalized voice spoke to them. Clear at first before malfunctioning like its host. He looked on in frustration at the whole situation.

Tony, why do you do this to yourself. He could not recall anything so self-destructive.

"If we cut the power on the ship...?" Steve suggested next.

Steve looked up at the other Steve, hiding his panic. He'd never seen Tony like this. It was starting to effect him, and he was afraid. Terrified. He'd just got back, and he wasn't going to loose Tony. Not again!

"That could work. But I don't know if we'd stay in orbit or not. I.." He shook his head. "I'm not really sure how this all works. Science, space, psychics. None of it was my specialty. I always left it to Tony, or Hank."
