But there was one person that wasn't doing as much shoveling as she should be to be amusing. Jan frowned from his perch against one of the walls, pushed off, and strode forward. He recognized that flamingly red bunch of hair.
A grin spread itself over his face and Jan announced himself with a noisy clatter of the chair across from Mara. He slapped himself down into an obnoxiously spread out lean, and turned the decidedly sleazy grin onto the captain.
"OUR SAVIOR AND LORD, CAPTAIN RED!" he crowed, and cackled at himself. "Sup, bitch? Having fun and shit?"

Kriffing-
Not again. She instead pursed her lips, and just glowered at the man who had decided to intrude on her moment alone.
"Go away," she growled beneath closed teeth, her face contorting slightly in frustration as she looked at him. She did not want to see a man who was just going to make lewd suggestions.

He leaned his chin into his palms, cocking his head and adopting an innocent look. "Bet you're just pissed cuz now you gotta go back to jerkin' it alone though, huh?"

"I don't think my private life is any of your business, anyways," she said darkly.

She claimed to be fine, and Clark knew Mara was a strong woman, but... her first mate had disappeared -- not just her first mate, but her friend. Husband. How could anyone be alright after that? Especially if they had really been as close as all that (there had to be more to it than Mara was telling, if they really had gotten married), and if he really was gone... for good.
He didn't intend to intrude. But he wanted to at least see her in person, in case she really did at least need a friendly ear right now. He'd finished his article for Lois a while ago and had been taking a breather, having scurried all over finding sources, but he didn't require that much rest to rejuvenate himself.
Using his X-ray vision, he found her in the cafeteria, and hovered awkwardly at the door before he stepped in and decided to approach her table. "Mara?"

"Hi, Clark," she said softly, before finally taking a sip of the drink. The warmth was comforting, at least. It was something she was familiar with, and that was a rarity, since she hadn't seen much she was exactly used to on board. It was all different, and frustrating as hell.
She sighed, and indicated the seat next to her. "If you're going to eat, you're free to sit with me," she offered.

But there was no way to know the right thing to do, the right thing to say. He kept his hands on the table, focused on them as he thought about what he could say.
"How's your coffee?"

She sighed, and looked back down at her cup. She didn't know what to think, or how to handle this. She hadn't been that close to Luke. She hadn't been. Apparently they would have gotten engaged in a few months, but that wasn't going to happen. It wasn't.
She wasn't actually going to say anything about it unless Clark asked. She had a sneaking suspicion that was why he was here, but she wasn't going to mention the subject unless he did.

She wondered for the slightest moment if perhaps it was the drink of choice preferred by those who were mourning. She didn't think she was mourning, herself, but she was sure others would disagree, especially with the way that she had decided to just mope in the cafeteria. Sithspit, she was pathetic.
"I'm faring just fine," she said, forcing her voice to be level and hard. She needed to remind herself that Skywalker was just a man. A man whom she hadn't even believed she would marry, and on top of that, a man whom she had tried to kill.
Well, apparently it was job complete, so to speak.

"On the Earth from which I came, others often say they're fine when they are not," she mused. It wasn't an accusatory statement, simply a statement. It was just bad form to approach someone and then call them a liar. "I'm sorry to say your behaviour of late contradicts your words, Captain. I understand that the matter isn't any of my business; I too am a fiercely private creature." Integral paused, looking across the cafeteria in thought. "If you do want to talk with someone who might be going through a similar loss of... a friend..." It was odd thinking of Alucard as anything more than a servant. It had been that way for so very long and now Integral found herself questioning the very nature of their decade together.

"People do the same where I'm from, but where I come from, denying how one feels is...common place," she said simply. "Jedi deny their feelings every day," she explained. "They're supposed to be 'serene'," she made a sour face. She hated the way the Jedi lived, the way they were 'supposed' to live.
