DATE: Day 51 CHARACTER(S): Tony Stark extremisshield and Integra Hellsing ms_hellsing STATUS: Complete SUMMARY: Integra wants to study and Tony's still acting odd. LOCATION: Media centre
Tony released her hand when she attempted to pull back. "I apologize, Sir Hellsing," he said, nodding his head politely in a gesture of respect. He felt as if he should be trying to curtail her favor in as smooth a way as possible, but another part of him really would just like to...
Well, that wasn't the point. She was a lovely woman, and there wasn't anything but that! He doubted she was the sort, really. Not one of the faceless bimbos he had taken to his bed, nor the males that had started to seem very attractive to him either.
A dismissive wave of her hand followed the apology. "A common error," Integra assured. Since he'd managed to garner her attention, she closed the book in which she'd been so engrossed, resting her hands on it. "Doing research for some new invention?" The impatient note was absent from Integra's tone now, replaced with a polite sort of curiosity. Small talk. what more could one do with someone they barely knew?
Tony laughed softly, and shook his head. "No, thankfully, everything I need for such things is up here," he tapped his forehead lightly in a show of confidence. Tony couldn't even imagine what he would need to research for such things. He had always been far more dead-set on trial and error, coupled with self-experimentation. Nobody had ever said that Tony stark was exactly high in the common-sense department, but really, any guy who ran around in an Iron Suit was definitely lacking at least something.
"I'm looking for something..." he searched for a tangible word to describe his confusion. "I'm afraid I don't know what to say!" he said, a slight laugh. "Something an acquaintance of mine said has led me to look through for some information," he corrected himself.
A single brow arched at the man's confidence. It wasn't a smile, so much as something less than a neutral expression that settled over her face. No one could accuse Tony Stark of being modest about his intelligence, apparently. Integra still accepted it with a grain of salt. While she'd seen nothing yet to discount his self-worth, she'd still seen nothing to its credit.
"Something," she repeated in an almost quizzical tone. Almost. "There's a great deal of 'something' everywhere you look. May I suggest you narrow your search?" Was that... No, it couldn't be a note of humour in the words.
Tony laughed softly. "Yes, there is a great deal of something," he admitted, tapping the side of his chin thoughtfully. "Really, refinement comes later, however, once the necessary knowledge has been accumulated," he gestured to her books with a nod. "Such as your books, are you going with one subject, or several through history?" he questioned, his eyes picking up titles and names.
Really, Integra shouldn't discount Tony's intelligence, however. Even if he was flirty, even more so now, he was brilliant, and if only she took the opportunity to be captured, or kidnapped, or any number of situations, she would find herself saved by the arms of Iron Man. That is, if her pet Vampire didn't get to her first, of course.
