DATE: just before curfew on Day 39
CHARACTER(S): Larry Butz, Palpatine, and future!Gabriel Gray
STATUS: Closed / Abandoned
SUMMARY: Larry kindly allows the banned-from-his-own-room Palpatine to spend the night in his room -- but only if Gabriel is present, since Taki is... elsewhere.
LOCATION: Cabin 104

Palpatine was about to answer Larry's question, but in the pause he took to formulate vague-enough-sounding words, Larry was off in the corner and Gabriel was comforting him.

"I... I didn't do anything..." he said feebly. Surely Gabriel had seen that he hadn't even touched Larry, right? He too had the urge to step forward and comfort the upset man, but something told him that would only make things worse. He stood in front of the bed and stared at his toes, looking away from Larry's freak-out as a courtesy.

Larry tried as hard as he could to stop breathing so heavily, but to no success. When Gabe come around it only made the breathing worse. He felt like such a disappointment to Gabe and he didn't know what to do!

Eventually he quieted down and battled Gabe away with his hand, muttering "It's okay, man," sniff "I'm good."

Following that dramatic event Larry picked himself up and sat on the bed. His eyes were still considerably red from all the crying he had just done, but at least his breathing was all back to normal now.

Gabriel took a step back, giving Larry some space. "Are you sure?" He asked, just as a precaution. Larry was a nice guy and everything, though sometimes (more often than he'd like to admit) Gabriel found himself slipping into the habit of speaking to him like he was a small child. Not on purpose.

He looked at Larry once more just for reassurance, before turning to Palpatine. "Of course you didn't. He was just having a panic attack." He sounded a little baffled. They'd only just walked into the room.

...Larry was, admittedly, seemingly very nervous around Palpatine, but nothing had happened.

Palpatine actually had dealt with another's panic attacks before, though it had been years. He was very glad Gabriel was here to deal with Larry's, since he (Palpatine) seemed to be the trigger.

"Perhaps I should go," he said weakly. "I don't mean to cause any undue stress." It was too close to curfew now to find another room to stay in. He could risk the media center... perhaps Alucard would grow a heart and overlook his presence if he discovered him on his rounds. ...well, that wasn't likely. He'd just have to hope he wasn't discovered.

"Nah- nah, man." He forced out. "I don't want to be alone anyway." While this was true, he would've preferred spending the night with Taki any day. (Woah, almost wrote 'Sleeping with Taki any day') Since Taki was out he couldn't really have that, no matter how much he wanted it.

Larry pushed himself back and laid on the bed and spent a few moments look up at the ceiling. "So Gabe, how's your roommate?"
