My image of the roads where you currently live is roughly and entire country/highway system that looks not dissimilar to the parking lot that is the DC metro area... Or a war zone not unlike Kosovo.
hmm, there are a lot of small highways that weave around each others, traffic here is utterly insane although not nearly as a bad as say Rome.
Roads here are mixed, most of them being pretty decent, particularly if you're not in the older parts of the cities, although with the lack of rain, they are pretty slick in the corners.
The west bank on the other hand, unless you're driving on the secure israeli roads, is pretty much kosovo.
