Another cozy weekend with beloved
beowabbit. Friday evening we met up at Park Street in "our spot" on the platform of the Red Line (the where we first said "I love you" way back when). We headed south to Quincy where a very satisfying steak dinner was had at OBSH. We were famished and the heavy boost of protein hit the spot.
Getting to his house was something of a slick obstacle course, with Quincy's icy sidewalks in even worse condition than Somerville's (and saying that is really saying something). We both have good reasons -- my back, his hip -- why falling would be a Bad Thing, so we had to gingerly pick our way around slippery patches, very selectively navigating our paths while avoiding cars when we had to walk in the street. We finally made it home, upright, to his cozy nest for sweetie time. Oh, and we watched Reefer Madness: The Musical and part of the original 1930s movie. Fun fare!
We got off to a late start in the morning. It was much colder than the day before, and would you want to get out of bed early? By the time we were up and out the door, our little hole-in-the-wall breakfast place was closed for the day, so IHOP it was. Then out for some grocery shopping, and off to my house. I cooked dinner while
beowabbit tinkered with the new wireless router (and it all felt very 1950s household, in spite of the modern tech :-)).
vanguardcdk joined us as we ate and watched I Am Legend.
President Barack Obama joined us in the bedroom and I'll give no further details on that. :-p
My darling's hip is hurting him, and he isn't sure what it is, but hopefully it's just something passing, perhaps strain from hacking at ice. But it didn't spoil this delightful weekend spent in.
