About the Challenge

For the past few years, I've run a challenge where people take the same plot and write their own stories using it. It came about as a response to a post debc made about how she thought it was silly for fic authors to get upset if someone else had the same story idea that they did. Any chance for a variations on a plot challenge this year/spring/sometime? I have a plot I really want to nominate -- it's a classic and is always done to great effect, at least in actual TV and movies. (I've een it less in fanfic, probably because it is plottier than a lot of fic, but it's still very doable!)

I can't speak for anyone else, obviously, but last year's plot didn't grab me. I know it was chosen by vote, but... maybe we need fewer choices? Or make the poll "check all you think you can write for" instead of or in addition to "choose your favorite." That might give you a better idea of if people will actually participate if a given plot is chosen.

I mostly just love the whole variations on a plot concept, and I hate to see it go away! :)
