Loving the emo gibbon, but I'm wondering if I missed something. What's "the Six Apart thing?"

The company that owns LJ, Six Apart, banned a couple of users permanently, without warning, because said users had "paedophilic" or whatever material in their journals. Mainly, this consisted of homosexual Harry Potter fanart (Snape/Harry anyone?). People have been QQing about it using the whole free speech thing like they own LJ which, uh, they don't.

Pretty much the whole thing in a nutshell.
