A bit late to the party, here is my contribution to plot_wout_porn. I'm posting it in parts one after the other, in one big lump, a poll on my LJ having determined that most people would prefer that (not that I've had any option really, as I've been away all weekend).

Re-reading is absorbing. My reaction to Wes is way different this time through. All I can think is: The poor, brave man! :D

Um, you know, looking at another comment, I realize that Buffy's "eating for two" thought might be construed in an incorrect, pregnant sort of way. :P

Wow! this is fascinating. sueworld2003 pointed me over here saying I must not miss out on this. She was right. I love how you get so much backstory and exposition in without ever doing the 'pause now for info-dump' thing. Good writing.

I listened to a dramatisation of The Worst Journey in the World on Radio 4 last year. It included some of the nightmare and hallucination sequences from Cherry-Garrard's later diaries as well as the original book. Yikes! Hope that that's not what's following them.

I love Cherry-Garrard's book. Also, Sara Wheeler has written a wonderful biography of him. Have you read it?
