Ah... I am glad you posted pictures. I was thinking embroidery like what it is in, I think, the US. As far as I know, and I could be wrong, that would be called counted cross-stitch.
Either way... you've accomplished a patch of dark grey. :)
Umm. Yes, it's counted cross stitch, but I'd class that as a subset of embroidery (which is effectively a nice synonym for 'making pretty stuff with stitching') ;)
Hmm ... mine stuff sits in a cardboard box from moving 3 years ago ;) Cept this actual piece coz that's on a stand, but the rest of the stuff in the box.
Is that the bit that's been sitting in the upstairs room the last zillion times I've been over there? :)
Yay for penguins. I have some lovely cross-stich and other needlepoint work that my grandmother made for me--she designed a lot of her own pattersn, though I've never found a good place to display them well.
Yeah, that's the one ;) The other one is also in the spare room, but more buried (I cover them up to stop the light bleaching the colours). I think I've been working on both off and on (more off than on) for the last ... oooh ... 8 years or so ;)
