Who: Jack Harkness, Buffy Summers
Where: Dining Room
When: Early Afternoon, the same day as
Buffy's fight with Spike.
Summary: Jack sleeps in for a second time since he arrived and heads for the dining room to find something to eat. Buffy happens by the dining room as well, looking for some food to bring an injured and hungover Spike.
Jack sauntered cheerfully into the dining room at what must have been around lunchtime, not that time meant much at the hotel. Surprisingly, he was actually starting to get used to that. His evening in the pool with Cordelia and Kate had done a lot to improve his mood after his disastrous afternoon in the bar with Spike. Admittedly, he could have, perhaps, played it a little differently, but he wasn't the one who started the unpleasantness. In fact, he'd made a concerted effort to be pleasant, despite Spike's sullen and nasty remarks. Well, up to a point. How far could anyone be nice in that situation? He hoped, for the second time since Spike had stormed out of the bar, that the angry ex-vampire hadn't done anything truly stupid. He had certainly been in a condition conducive to stupidity.
Instead of sitting down at a table, he wandered over to the buffet table that was always set up along one wall. Maybe he'd grab something 'to go' and eat outside. Not that there was much to see outside, but he didn't like the feeling of being couped up. Even working in an underground base in a city that saw rain for a good proportion of the year, he felt like he saw the sun more at home than he had since he got here.
He strolled along the buffet table and surveyed what was on offer.
