Better Days

Who: Kurt, John, and Jack
Where: The Lounge
When: Afternoon
Summary: Kurt and John are chatting in the lounge when Jack stumbles upon them.

The time since he and John had gotten together had passed by in a happy haze for Kurt.  What once felt like a prison sentence now felt like a new lease on life.  Kurt was glad he had been brought to this hotel.  All the trouble that came with it was more than worth what he was now lucky enough to have.  Some days he still had difficulty wrapping his head around the fact that this was happening.  Give him a psychic hotel that kidnapped people from various times and universes and he readily accepted it.  Give him the returned affection from someone he cared about and he was looking for the man behind the curtain.  He'd never voice those doubts aloud though, choosing instead to follow his usual mien and concentrate on the good.  John wanted to be with him.  The 'whys' and the 'hows' and even the 'how longs' didn't matter in the face of that.  They would only darken their time together and,...knowing that the relationship would inevitably end, he didn't want to waste a second on dark thoughts.  What time he had with John was better than not having him at all. So, while not necessarily attached at the hip (space was, after all, a good thing no matter how much you liked someone), not a day went by where Kurt did not see John.

They had met that afternoon for lunch and were now relaxing in the lounge. They sat facing one another on a loveseat, knee pressed to knee and their hands, which hung over the back of the couch, were clasped. The position was a relaxed one, the two clearly comfortable with one another and wrapped up in their own, private world.

"So there I am," said Kurt, silent laughter warming his expression as he shared the anecdote. "Twelve years old, new to my abilities, and I suddenly, without warning, find myself in the middle of Jimaine's room. She starts screaming like a banshee und I realize she is completely naked." Some laughter broke free now and he crossed his heart with his free hand, "I swear to God I had not even meant to teleport! It just happened." He leaned in a little as if sharing a secret. "Anyone who tells who teleporting is easy was lying."
