"Star Wars. I can honestly say it's been a while," Jack observed as he sat down a few seats away from Reynolds, putting his feet on the back of the chair in front of him. He glanced over. "Personal favourite of yours?" he guessed.
Mal spilled his second bag of popcorn that day. "Gorramit! I was enjoying that!!" he scowled over at Harkness as the other man sat down. His scowl turned to a grin pretty quickly though. "Ain't never seen it. But it's fun. Mind you, ships don't make that sort of sound in space... it's real quiet out in the black... but it's fun. An' that Han Solo guy? I like him a lot."
Mal took it and munched happily. "Reminds me of me. Broken down ship... smuggling compartments... taking on passengers for extra money... yet still does the right thing in the end," he said with a smile as the character in question blew a TIE fighter out of the sky."
Kaylee dressed quickly and walked back into the main room her still wet hair curling slightly around her shoulders. She didn't say anything as she crossed over to the mini fridge and pulled out a bottle of water before sitting cross legged at the foot of her bed.
"I'm sorry," she finally said, looking down at her hands which were resting in her lap.
Jack was prepared to argue with Mal that it would be worse if she found out on her own and they hadn't told her, but she reappeared and suddenly was apologizing to them.
"The hotel's acquired a fun fair," Jack told her. "Outside," he added, nodding towards the window. "Can't see it from this side of the building, but the lounge usually affords a good view."
"Yes! An honest to goodness carnival. Not like the ones in our time. But there are these rides and games and a haunted house. And the bumper cars are lots of fun!" Mal extolled grinning like a kid.
Mal's enthusiasm was catching and Kaylee was already getting excited at the idea of going and checking it out soon. "I can't wait to see it!" she grinned, already putting it on her list of things to do. "What else did I miss?"

"He does have that rakish charm going for him. And he fills out a pair of space pirate trousers quite nicely," he agreed.
He glanced over.
"There was a time when I tended to go for the bad boys myself."

"She was gone," he murmured. "She might not know about Owen."

"What are you sorry for?" he asked with a frown.
They were the ones that had dehinged her door.
