Who: Kathryn Janeway and Julian Bashir
Where: Julian's room
When: Late evening following
this post
What: Janeway accepts Bashir's offer for some company and possibly that sedative...
She returned to her room, shutting and locking the door behind her as she entered. Janeway made to carry on about her business, but found herself still holding the doorknob in one hand and resting her forehead heavily against the door after a long pause. She let out a breath and then another and another...wrestling with waring emotions and nerves.
She had control over this, at least. Those few minutes in Garak's room had helped her reassert herself into a more stable train of thought and it helped her bring a calm and rational mind back to what had happened. Janeway still jumped a bit, as evidence by her reaction to the Cardassian opening his bedroom door to say goodbye...so while she wasn't about to turn into a quivering ball of rattled nerves, she still didn't feel very much alright.
Janeway opened her eyes and stared at the wood grain for a moment, wondering how long she had been standing there. The doorknob in her hand was very warm from contact with her skin. She took one last deep breath and pulled away, turning to face her room. At once she started to turn on lights, leaving the sitting room very devoid of shadows. All her things were right where they had been left, her badge and pips on her desk by her log. Her phaser set out beside them.
She picked up the weapon and marched into her darken bedroom, turning on the lights as quickly as she could, finger on the trigger. There was nothing there. Janeway swept around the end of her bed, giving it a wide berth, while snatching a white house coat off a post and plucking whatever was on top from the dresser for clothing. She shut and locked her bathroom door behind her on the way to the shower with her weapon and clothes.

Nearly a half hour later, Janeway exited her room. She stepped into the hallway with a wary glance up and down the corridors. Her wet hair was brushed back into a loose braid, and her house coat was draped over the red turtleneck from her admiral uniform and black pants. The pips were absent but the comm badge was pinned to it's usual spot.
She pocketed her phaser into her jacket's pocket and walked quietly down the hall to room 503.
Janeway paused for a moment at the door, reconsidering what she was about to do and decided that she would much rather sit and be in Julian's company than alone in her room with all the lights on and a phaser in arm's reach all night. She knocked gently on the wooden surface of his door and waited for him to answer.
