A familiar figure was sitting with the window open. The Doctor looked from lift to Jareth and back again. How did that old Earth saying go? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer (or at least close enough to find out what the
hell he was playing at with Rose.)
Ambling down the hallway, he suddenly stopped, then turned back the way he had come. Perhaps this was a little too up close and personal for either of them!

"I don't believe you live on this floor," he said, turning back to the window. "Or are you the latest census-taker, since the vampire disappeared?"

"Nope. The lift dumped me here, not my choice- I was heading for the garage."

"Nobody has checked this floor," he said after a moment. He turned and glanced at the Doctor. "I do read that Network... thing. The vampire used to do so frequently. That's how I know he is no longer here."

"I have no idea what that's supposed to mean," he said loftily. "But I'm sure you're not so blind that you haven't noticed Rose is still in love with Harkness." He looked out across the winter vista again. "Or, at least, with the idea of him."

that meant, you
would understand about Jack."
A faint smile played across the Doctor's lips. "Perhaps you should try and learn more about Rose, before you start making assumptions."
