After getting somewhat settled into her room and changing into some more appropriate clothing (given Backup's magical apperance, she was not surprised to find some of her clothing neatly folded in the dressers), Veronica clipped a leash onto Backup's collar.
"Come on, boy, let's try and figure out what exactly this place has to offer," she said, making sure she had her key on her. She didn't know why, but talking with Backup gave her a sense of normalcy in her otherwise otherworldly day. Wandering the halls, she did her best to memorize what route she was taking, so that she would be able to find her way back to her room later.
Veronica was passing by an ajar door when she caught the distinctive whiff of chlorine. Deciding to take a look, she quietly pushed the door open and walked inside. She gazed in awe at expansive room, struck once again by the apparent wealth of whoever had build this place.
Turlough looked up when he saw the movement out of the corner of his eye. A blonde woman was walking in, accompanied by her dog. "Hello," he said, the acoustics of the room echoing his voice. "Are you new?"
Of course, Turlough was certain he hadn't met everyone yet, Jack and Rose being two of them heard but not seen, she looked like she was trying to take the place in, so he doubted she was a veteran.
Veronica almost started when the voice spoke to her. She hadn't noticed anybody else in the room. Looking around she saw a young man with redish hair sitting on the side of the pool with his feet in the water.
"Yeah, I'm new," she answered, walking closer to him. She was relieved to find that at least one person in this crazy place didn't automatically assume that she knew them. "Name's Veronica Mars. How about you?"
