Dated to Second Week of February, Ireland, Ianto, Jack

She'd thought, on the way to the doctor's earlier that day, that after the week spent with Wales that she could do this, that she'd already raised Northern Ireland and England after all, of course she could do it again. She might even get it right this time! So she'd walked in with a real smile and real confidence, certain that whatever she heard ( Read more... )

Ianto nodded. "Yeah, we're almost there. Just a few more steps." He had his arm around her, supporting her both mentally and physically. It had been a trying day, and it was obvious to anyone that looked at her that she was not at her best in that moment. That she wasn't feeling very well at all, for starters, and that part of that probably had nothing to do with morning sickness.

"Hang in there, alright?" he prompted, gently. "How are you feeling? D'you need anything once we get inside?"

She swallowed, wondering how her vision could swim even with her eyes shut. Once she was sure she wasn't going to be sick right that second, she cracked one eye open and grinned weakly up at him. "Jus' a clear route to the bathroom and a cup of tea after, 'tis all." She groaned and closed her eye again. "Why's everythin' so bright?"

Ianto nodded, letting her into the flat and helping her up the stairs to the bathroom. "I'll bring you some tea up, alright?" he said, gently, as they went, trying to keep her mind away from the fact that she was feeling so poorly. "And you can have a lay-down. I'll sit with you, if you like." Or if she didn't like, honestly. He wanted to keep an eye on her, make sure she wasn't alone. "We could try calling Jack over, too..." And they reached the top of the stairs, the bathroom right in front of them. "Here we are," he said, softly.

She barely nodded, not wanting to move her head more than she had to and add to the dizziness. "Aye, lie-down's soundin' nice, though you're not havin' to sit with me." Though to be honest, she did want him there and just didn't want to make him feel like he had to be. She swallowed again, feeling the bile rise in her throat. "Should prob'ly be callin' him anyway, need to be tellin' the other father the news after all."

Once they got up there she barely had a chance to breathe a "thank you" and dashed in, closing the door enough to hopefully muffle the retching sounds but open enough that she didn't shut it in the poor guy's face.
