Thaaats kind of hard to answer since few of us have even see it yet. From what I understand, they do have part that takes place in 5D's world, but I think just having a basic understanding of the anime is okay. Warning though, it does have spoilers to the series in there.

Oh man, if they release the movie anywhere on the west coast, they sure as hell better release it here in Seattle, Washington. Me and my cosplay crew (The Umbrella Duelists) and tons of other Yu-Gi-Oh fans will totally be on Cloud 9 if they do... <3 <3 <3
