they all are just SO precious!!! The box of straw ones are my favs. Totally pretending to lay eggs. Makes me think of the queens who get hens to watch their kittens for them.
Stella Skunk!!!!! I didn't know you had a skunk. And sleeping possum and box turtle and I just can't take the cute <333333333333333333
I had a bag of straw in the kitchen I was using for the opossum, and the kitties kept trying to crawl inside, so I finally got them their own box full, lol. Chicken kittensitters, hee!
I actually have two skunks - Stella was a pet skunk that someone donated about five years ago, and Jazz is my other stripey girl - she was a wild baby that followed someone home, turned out to be blind and deaf. The cute! There's lots of it around here! (and lots of poo and fuzz, but kinda goes with the territory :P)
They are all frighteningly adorable, aren't they? I love this set of pictures - I have these mental images of you as a latter day Dr Doolittle, talking to the animals :)
Teh cuteness! It melts! :D Cats are such photogenic creatures, are they not? They own any scenery they come across, and they know it. :) Eee, 'possum pink curled footsies! :D Is that the flaily girl? Aww, too bad about Stella. Get well soon, and keep on trucking, striped darling! Top most surprising thing I never knew about turtles - they can climb out of a plastic box. O_O 'Get well' wishes for you too, sturdy fellow. :*
Kitties do seem to arrange themselves photogenically on purpose, don't they ^^ Yep, that's little flaily girl - she's getting so big! She's officially on the wildlife permits, so I've been bringing her in for education programs.
Stella seems to be doing fine, despite the back legs not cooperating - she's been having a good time dragging herself around the living room tonight^^
I couldn't believe turtle could get out of there, either - he kind of stood on his tippy toes and hooked his front claws over the edge and pulled himself up the side! I think he's gonna be just fine, lol.
Yep, the kitties are all growed up, although they still act like crazy kittens a lot of the time.
So far they're pretty good about taking turns with the various favorite spots: one kitty gets up, and the next one in line takes the spot :D
The kitties did a few cautious paw-pokes at the turtle, but mostly just watched him, and he really didn't seemed concerned by kitties and dog sniffs at all. We found him out in the park, but we think he was probably a former pet turtle that someone released.
Stella actually was a pet skunk from a pet store (where they're descented) that someone donated about five years ago. She does lots of educational programs every year :)
It's definitely good to have my own place for this sort of thing - I don't mind the occasional snake or turtle or baby opossum loose in the house, or the dead mice or worms or bats hibernating in the fridge, but it's not exactly standard fare for your average roommate or landlord :P
Bats hibernating in the fridge? Well, at least its not a parrot in the freezer.
My dad found a dead bat once - minus its head, and not a fresh dead, cause he was bones without the stinky stench. Course, he had to show it to his students (Dad's a science teacher, found the dead bat behind some boxes at school), and they examined it. A few wondered if it was a mouse. The wings were not obvious at first glance.
Yeah, most roommates and landlords might ignore the cats, dog, and turtle(s), but the others are not average pets. Then again, the skunk might not be so unusual, but I don't know any friends with skunks as pets. Rabbits, mice, hamsters, fish, and snakes I do know owners, but not skunks. Not counting you!

That was the cutest thing ever, when I saw he'd climbed up on there - just the perfect little turtle warmer <3
