I just washed my last squirrel nipple down the sink.  Squirrel nipples - slippery little doobers they are.  I need to get a drain screen or something...

wildlife, rl, fail, nipples!

I'm afraid it's beyond the reach of tweezers even - but thanks for the attempt ^^

I've got three little baby fox squirrels that just arrived tonight - luckily I got them fed before I lost the nipple. I can still feed them with a plain syringe - it's just a lot messier and slower going. *adds nipple shopping to tomorrow's agenda*

*wilts* Awww.

Meep, yeah, feeding before losing the feeder. Good luck, that. But you get to go nipple shopping! Yay! *gives own personal cheerleading squad for the trip and takes up pom-poms*

Wow - personal cheerleading squad! Thankee :D

Nipple shopping - it's kinda like Goldilocks and the Three Bears...gotta find ones that aren't too short, aren't too long, not too squishy, not too tough - I found some in a catalogue somewhere that were perfect, now if only I can remember which one...

Many things that I do are extremely Wrong taken out of context - it's endless fun, lol ^_~

Good news though - I had an extra nipple at work!

Hee - I need to use that fail tag more often - I'm sure I've got lots more amusing fail stories around here somewhere...

Most rehabbers get started by taking care of some little baby wild thing illegally - I raised several bunnies and baby birds in the day ^^ Where I am it's extremely difficult to actually find and get hold of a rehabber, usually involving at least 10 phone calls and a lot of frustration - lots of folks give up and try to raise the babies themselves and I really can't blame them even though the results aren't always good if they don't do their research.

I found an extra nipple at work - hooray! Very good timing as another squirrel baby showed up today, younger and not in the best shape. The nipple will make him a lot easier to feed.

For a minute, I did not come up with which nipple you meant, and it was very disturbing.

"Why do you need to take the NIPPLES off of SQUIRRELS? Why do they need saving?! DDD:"

And then my brain kicked in. ^_^;

You live such an interesting life! I'm a little envious, honestly. (Well, more than a little. Adorable baby skunks!)

*roffles* Sorry to alarm you, lol ^^

It is a pretty interesting life, although I mostly post only the interesting parts of it (today, for instance, I am doing such thrilling things as mowing grass, doing laundry, going to the grocery store, cleaning out the gutters, paying bills, writing up some handouts for volunteer training tomorrow...). Baby skunks were definitely a highlight for the year - my little goofy stinkers <33333
