First wildlife baby of the year arrived today - teeny day-old raccoonlet, not in the best shape.  A hiker found her along a trail in the park, muddy and cold. She's a bit dehydrated, but fairly squirmy and squawky once she got warmed up again - didn't like the rehydration solution at all, but I finally got her to take some diluted puppy formula, so ( Read more... )

The usual surprises, right on schedule, lol - the first wildlife babies are usually sometime end of March, early April. Little raccoonlet is doing well, starting to make squawks for feeding # 6 or 7ish, I've lost track!

Oh boy!
Raccoonlet!
Hmm. Like a certain 14 muddy, straw-covered babies who also didn't like their system-cleaning sips of green goo... ;D

Hee hee! Although raccoonlet response was more along the lines of outraged screaming full on baby raccoon tantrum - she's starting to get the hang of things finally, usually takes them a day or two. Her last feeding she guzzled until her belly was round, victory! Aaaand I hear meepings, time to refill the tank yet again ^^

As bad as a newborn human, hehe! Glad its doing better.
I had to put my lawn mower in for repairs and I currently have the shaggiest yard in the neighborhood-got it back after spending the morning on helping the church spruce the landscaping, shopping, and cleaning the house.
Guess we'll both get to it when we get to it.

Pretty much! Lots of just trying to figure out how to get the milk in the baby, lol, although the nice thing about raccoons is once they get the hang of things they guzzle their meals in a minute or two, most of the time is spent cleaning the bottles afterwards.

Whoo hoo, shaggy yard competition! *high fives* :D
