Snow globe project, represent! Gandalf inspects butterfly, bee, and frog snowglobes - he liked watching the glitter swirl around :)

Very fun! I'm quite happy with how they turned out, although my goal of "quick, inexpensive presents" was not met, lol - I think I probably put in at least $50 by the time you add up the glue, glitter, paint, spray paint, goo remover, artificial plants, and little animals. Still, I've got enough materials now I can make LOTS of these if I want to.

The Homemade Snowglobes are PRETTY!
Surprised Bones and Toast aren't checking out the decorations ... maybe they got enough just watching you struggle to put them together?

Gorilla Glue ... Seems to do the trick for lots of little projects where Duct-Tape just won't cut it!

Nice tips - now, if only I had some used baby jars to experiment with. (previous years, I went with christmas-ornaments from a kit. But these will get more use and give more visual color/appeal for longer and in more rooms).

Thank you! They're quite fun - wasn't sure if they were going to be anything I'd want to give people or not, but I think they'll do ok :)

Toast and Bones haven't been particularly interested, just Gan although Toast was right in my face for pettings while I was trying to work on them earlier.

Gorilla Glue is good stuff! Although at one point I almost glued my fingers together, lol.

Secret to glitter and water: glitter glue.

Use warm/hot water and use glitter glue. Fill the jar up about halfway, dump in a sizeable amount of glitter glue, and stir it well to break up any chunks, because those will never go away if you seal it that way. Now you can use loose glitter, stir it in, and it will cooperate. Except for super fine, that never really wants to cooperate, but it looks like you're using a pretty heavy flake.

Ah ha! I'll have to try that next time, thanks for the tip! After a couple of prototypes, I think I actually like the fine glitter better - the big flakes seem out of scale with the teeny animals and small jars, and I like the effect of the fine glitter better. I'll probably redo the first ones with the finer grade - it did pretty good with the soap treatment.

I'm no good with most DIY but I admire those who can do them, and these look great.

Thank you! I'm hit or miss with the DIY - sometimes it turns out pretty good, and sometimes it's a candidate for those "Nailed it! Pintrest Fail" memes, lol
