Was glad I wasn't outside when that started coming down! There was so much lightning it was even scary doing a quick dash to the covered front porch for a sample before it all melted.
I enjoy listening to thunder (and hail) rolling in from the safety of a covered porch/house.
Those look like decent sized hail stones. Bigger than the ones I remember getting here (my state), and, perhaps, clearer too - but the lack of white stoney look could be due to increased size.
Me too - love a good thunderstorm! As long as I'm inside, and I'm not responsible for the safety and/or entertainment of a bunch of kids stuck inside.
I've seen hail in both clear and white versions, or combinations like this one - I think it has to do with the type of clouds it passes through when forming (water droplets vs water vapour or something like that).
