Annual eye doc appt today - I still don't need bifocals, although I've noticed this year it's difficult to read up close with my regular glasses on, so I usually take them off if I'm reading in bed. Apparently being near-sighted delays the need for bifocals for awhile? I didn't quite understand when eye doc was explaining it ( Read more... )

That is SO cute.

I'm very near sited as well. I hope that delays my onset of needing reading glasses or bifocals as well!

Thankee! :D

My mom didn't need bifocals until she was nearly 50, if I remember right. Although she's not near-sighted at all, so...not sure how that works.

Eeeee so cute! A wee Smauglet! <333

Oh hey, I had my annual eye exam today as well! O.O Long-distance mutual staring into really bright lights ftw! I took a selfie of my starboard side all dilated... ;D Belladonna look, woo!
Yeah, my optometrist suggested I just scoot my glasses down my nose a little to get some magnification when I'm intubating cats. Because putting bifocals on -13 diopters isn't that fun, apparently? So they'd rather not. And I'd rather not. For as long as possible. And getting farsighted for once might be a novelty!

I don't think they'll let me drive, tho... XD

That's so cool! It reminds me of a few things I saw at the Christmas market today. One of the stalls had cool little wall-climbing lizards and sleepy bats all in glazed ceramic. They were a bit too pricey for me (totally worth the cost, just outside of my grasp!), but hopefully they'll be back sometime.

Oooh, those sound like fun! Mom and I took a trip down south where they've got a bunch of crafty-artsy shops, and there were all kinds of neat ceramics and pottery. No lizards though! There was a nifty clay-pot bird box thing for wrens to nest in, but yeah, most of it was well above my budget.
