ETA: I fixed the code and lj-cut. Sorry about that everyone! *blushes*
- What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why? I would most definitely be a teacher. Well, I would pursue it at least. That's my current career goal in the muggle world as of now, so I don't see why it would change once I had magical powers. If anything, it'd aid me in teaching classes. ;) I want to be a teacher so I can help students, it's as simple as that. I'm also addicted to school and I can't imagine ever leaving it.
- If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why? Oh, what a convenient second question, haha. I think I'd like to teach charms. I find the topic fascinating and I'd really enjoy teaching the theory behind it as well as the practical side. I think it's an important subject in the wizarding world. I also wouldn't want to teach anything strictly practical, as I'm very much a "read the words on the paper" person.
- This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not? There's no way I would. I'm sure I'd be tempted, but I'd follow the rules. Fame and glory don't sound all too appealing to me. I'd rather be doing things in the background. Besides, there's no way I'd be able to get through Dumbledore's age line, and I don't know why anyone would bother to try.
- If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why? I'm quite torn on this question, so I have two answers. It could go either way. I want to say a rabbit because I just finished reading Watership Down for a children's literature course and I surprisingly enjoyed the book way more than I expected to and I am now intrigued by the life of bunnies. However, the other option, which I believe may weigh out the other one, is a crow. Not that I like crows at all, but my last name means crow in Portugese (or so I've been told) and the mascot of my University is a crow. Quite the coincidence.
- What HP character do you identify with most and why? It's probably cliche, but I'll be honest and say Hermione Granger. She's the reason I loved the series in the beginning. I liked the idea of a female hero. I realte very well to her love of knowledge and books. All through my school years I have been at the top of the class and the teacher's pet (although there have been a few exceptions...). Her frustration with Ron Weasley also appeals to my 12-year-old at heart.
- What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised? My very own classroom. I feel quite lame admitting that, actually. But I sincerely don't think my heart desires more than to have my own classroom, full of my own decorations, with my own students, and a ridiculously large binder on the desk full of my very own curriculum.
- If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it? Very, very carefully. I'm terrible when it comes to saving money, so I'd hope if I was ever fortunate enough to win a great amount I'd have some control over myself. I think I would first pay for my school and not spend very much more of it until I was completed my education and starting to settle down in "the real world."
- What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now? As a kid I always wanted to be a vet. For some reason I thought I'd be able to handle taking care of sick animals all day. I don't think I realized just how depressing the job would be. Over time I came to the conclusion that being a vet just wasn't going to cut it for me, so now I'm sticking with books. I've mentioned enough times now for you to know I want to be a teacher, but for specifics, I want to be a high school English teacher.
- If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it? I'd most likely invent a spell/potion/charm that would enable me to read faster than I currently can. Not that I'm a slow reader (I take pride in being able to read quite quickly, actually) but being a student, there's nothing more valuable than finding spare time AFTER having read all of your required readings. For a name, I'd call it "pagered," books being page, red being an altered way of saying "read" in the past tense.
- If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus? A boggart would turn into a clown if I were to face it. I don't understand where anyone sees the happiness in a clown. They are honestly the single-most creepy things I have ever encountered. My bedroom walls were plastered with clown wallpaper (well, maybe "plastered is an exaggeration") when I was a child, and I have hated the things ever since. I fear going to the circus. If I threw the counter-spell, my boggart would possibly turn into a large ice cream cone. Yes, I think cotton candy ice cream would do the trick.
- What do you look for in a friend? Honesty. There's nothing more important to me than honesty. I've been screwed over by way too many people in my life than to take trust lightly. Even if someone is a jerk, as long as they're up front about it and understand that they're a jerk, chances are I'll get along with them. I can't stand fake people, anyone who is afraid to be who they truly are.
- What trait most annoys you about other people? Besides what I just stated in the above answer, I really dislike it when people smoke. Don't get me wrong, I'm not all preach-y about it (both my mother and my boyfriend smoke), but for some reason it really irks me. I'm not sure if that would be considered a trait or not, but I'm going to stick with it.
- What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
1. Passionate. There are certain things I absolutely love, and when I love something, it takes a high priority in my life. I think it's very important for people to be passionate about one thing or another.
2. Dedicated. Set me a task and I'll see through that it is completed. I follow rules. If someone tells me to do something, it's done. And well.
3. Honest. Ask me a question and I'll tell you the real answer. No matter what.
4. Creative. I take pride in my creativity. I may not be able to paint or draw, but I can make graphics and scrapbook pretty darn well.
5. Childish. Not that I'm immature, but there are many things about me that remind me of my younger self and I am proud of them. For example, I consistently have colouring books on hand that I can colour when I'm stressed out. No joke. My current one is the Care Bears.
- What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
1. Shy. Not that I think being shy is weak, but people always perceive you poorly. A lot of the times people think I'm snobby, and it's just not true. :(
2. Stressful. I stress out a lot. Most of the time this is about school, which is sad, but I try way too hard with my school work.
3. Habit-forming. Well, more specifically, I bite my nails. And I hate it. I'm aware that it's a terrible sign of character but I just can't stop doing it.
4. Independent. Indepence is a good thing, but it sometimes comes off as not so nice when I just want time alone.
5. Math. I hate math. All numbers need to stay far, far away. I get angry from the sight of them.
