  • What sort of profession in the wizarding world would you choose and why? I would love to be an Auror, because I have a tendency to want to help people when they’re in trouble, and everyone wants to have their part in saving the world. And, it seems like a challenging job that I would enjoy doing. However, I’d also be content as a Professor at Hogwarts. A good teacher can change the lives and perspectives of many people, and I would love to say that I would help students use their magic in a positive and useful manner.

  • If you could teach one class at Hogwarts, what would it be and why? Definitely Defense Against the Dark Arts. It has so many different angles to it and it seems the most interesting. This is also one of the most important and applicable classes that young witches and wizards would take, as it would teach them about their world and how to live in it and deal with the negative aspects of wizardry. I love magic and theories and creatures and everything!

  • This year, The TriWizard Tournament is being held once again and you're of age. Do you put your name in the Goblet? Why or why not? I would put my name in the Goblet to show that I can comfortable and confident with my magical skills. I love a challenge, and this would be a testament to that. Also, it seems like great fun! I don’t think I’d actually get chosen, though…I’m not athletic enough. :D

  • If you could choose your animagus form, what would it be and why? A black cat, because they’re cute yet stealthy. Cats can be your best friend or your worst enemy, which goes with my personality. They’re able to get around and get through small holes in fences…and they’re just so cute!

  • What HP character do you identify with most and why? I think I identify the most with Harry around the time he’s 15, 16. He’s matured a lot, but he’s still a kid. He isn’t afraid to stand up for himself, even though he’s under constant scrutiny. In the beginning of Book 5, when he feels isolated from Ron and Hermione…I’ve been through that recently, and it really calls to me. You can have the best friends in the world, but still feel alone. Sometimes, you need to focus on yourself instead of the rest of the world. Everyone needs to grow up, and he’s learning that slowly. Despite all that he’s gone through, he manages to not become totally bitter and cynical about life, if at all, and that’s exactly the way I am.

  • What would you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised? I would see myself happy. It’s a simple answer, but that’s all I would want in life: satisfaction and happiness.

  • If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it? I’d buy my father his dream home on the beach, and my mother her second bathroom. I’d pay for my college education and that of my brother. I’d travel throughout Europe, and put the rest in the bank.

  • What was your ideal job as a kid? Has that changed? What is your ideal job now? My ideal job as a kid was to be a secret agent. I’d still love to be one, but I doubt that’s a practical job. I’m starting college in the fall, but I’m going in undeclared because I’m not sure what I want to do. I’d love to be a politician *cough*CIA*cough*, or a writer.

  • If you were able to invent one spell, potion, or charm, what would it do, what would you use it for or how would you use it, and what would you call it? The Carpe Diem Charm would give people the courage to seize the moment and strive for their heart’s desire.

  • If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into? And what does it turn into when you throw the counter-spell, Riddikulus? It would be very much like Mrs. Weasley’s boggart: my family, dead, coming after me to bring me to the other side. I can’t imagine what life would be like without them, and the idea that they would try to lure me to the other side terrifies me. When I would say “Riddikulus” the corpses would start tripping over themselves.

  • What do you look for in a friend? Loyalty, compassion, and honesty. First of all, a friend needs to like me for me, and nothing less. I’m a fiercely loyal friend who will fight for my friends, and I want to know that they’ll do the same. I believe that a friendship is stronger when the people are able to stick together and motivate each other to become better people. You can’t have a true relationship without honesty: I want someone who will point out my flaws and my mistakes, as I would for them, to correct them! And you know every friendship needs compassion, and love for one another. I’m sociable and have no trouble making friends, but it’s not as simple to create a deep relationship with someone I can truly trust. Also, someone to have fun with and get into trouble with…what’s the fun of having friends if you don’t get into trouble together??

  • What trait most annoys you about other people? When people pretend to be something they’re not for the attention of other people. I believe that if people don’t like you for who you are, you’re better of without them, and they’re not good enough for you.

  • What do you think are your top five abilities or qualities?
    1. Compassion for other people. I’m one of those people who cannot stand watching other people be hurt or upset…the sort of friend who will show up with a mix CD and your favorite snack and comfort you.
    2. I’m courageous. Not in the reckless danger sort of way, but in the sense that I take chances. For example, I was not accepted at my dream university, or even my second choice. (So much for good grades getting you into good schools…ha.) I was accepted at other schools, but instead of spending my money on a university that I didn’t really want to go to, I’m going to community college. I got a lot of slack for that, especially because I was one of the top students at my school. It’s also incredibly scary not knowing if I’ll be accepted to the same schools again when I apply in two years. But I did what was best for me, not for everyone’s idea of me, and I feel incredibly liberated and happy with my decision. Courage is about fighting for what’s against you, as scared as you are. Who knows if I’ll get into my dream school, but I’m brave enough to try again.
    3. I’m incredibly loyal. I will fight to the death to protect my loved ones.
    4. I’m outspoken. I’m the sort of person that will speak her mind, no matter what. (Well, unless I’m ignorant about what’s going on, and then I’ll wait until I’ll better informed to make my point.) I believe in standing up for oneself, and that’s something I’ll encourage everyone I know to do as well. I hate it when people are passive and they don’t say what’s bothering them!
    5. I love a challenge, and will seldom turn one down. I love being pushed to work and figure something out, just to see the outcome.

  • What do you think are your top five weaknesses or worst qualities?
    1. Compassion for other people. Sometimes I’m so caught up in taking care of everyone else that I forget about taking care of myself.
    2. I get quite emotional. I let the little things affect me, and that makes me weak. I should work on that.
    3. I don’t always think before I speak…and that leads to some problems. Especially when I make an idiot out of myself…ay.
    4. I’m terribly impatient. I hate hate hate waiting for anything…it’s excruciating! Like taking an exam, and getting the results four months later? What’s up with that?
    5. I’m a klutz. Yes, ladies and gentleman, I was the girl who fell on her face at the Homecoming Dance that everyone laughed at. Run into a glass door? All the time. It’s terrible!

  • Define in your own words the following key traits:
    • Courage: Taking chances.
    • Loyalty: Never letting those you love down.
    • Intelligence: The ability to solve problems.
    • Ambition: Striving for what’s best for you.

  • Name: Andrea
  • Age: Seventeen.
  • Where did you find out about us? I was looking for a good Harry Potter community, and this seemed like it!
